ABOUT ME

For as far back as I can remember, I have had a passion for writing. My first piece of poetry was published in a local community magazine when I was 15, and another took the creative writing first prize some time way back in the hazy memories of high school.

I have written to keep myself sane. I have written to help ease pain and I have written to remember it. I have written in joy and in celebration, in sadness and in darkness.

All this been tucked away, first in volumes of faded notebooks, and later in the hidden folders of my computer.

In my 20 years as a therapist and a teacher, I have learned even more the power of the word. The spoken word and the written word. And the enormous overwhelming healing of silence.  In this silence, words have a place to grow.To take root, and grow forward.

So now I am letting them out. The words. Uncovering them. And sharing.  My hope is that my journey might just parallel another’s. Might lend a helping hand, encouragement or just information and interest.

I have, in my time written course descriptions, lesson plans, product descriptions, blogs and web posts.  Fiction and nonfiction for adults and children are now sneaking into my repertoire.

And maybe, just maybe - those manuscripts that are gathering dust in the drawer - might finally get to have them published.
